Ok, so any relation to expense is out the window. Door dings don't matter.
The answer: Why not? If you were purposely not to have door dings or the quality of the car in mind, what possible reason would there be to purposely avoid cars?
Do you find it uncomfortable to be parked next to someone? I never have. I have a small car, I know how to park, so the comfort of myself and others is never a factor in getting in/out of our respective cars.
Again, to be clear, I know now that this is a "car guy" thing, so I'll keep it in mind, but what possible reason would there be to avoid parking next to someone if not for door dings?
