But that still doesn't explain why your would need to park directly next to them.
As far as I know, we're operating under the assumption that this hypothetical parking lot is more than half empty, and that there are plenty of empty spots specifically at the back of the lot where this "car guy" is.
Even if the spot directly next to them is closer to your destination, why not leave a space between you?
Obviously is this lot is full, and there are a handful of people parked back there already, the situation.changes.
