That's really the crux of this entire discussion.
Apparently the "car guys" are all aware of this unwritten rule and all the "non-car guys" are not.
Dinging somebody's car is bad. I'm sure all us "non-car guys" agree with that point. Dinging somebody's car and then not leaving a note is even worse. What I don't understand is why the "car guys" think it's a problem if I happen to park next to them in the unwritten "car guy zone" at the back of the lot. If I ding your door,
I'm an a-hole. If I
don't ding your door but you still get annoyed because I parked next to you,
you're an a-hole.
