That was never our argument and you know it.

As it turns out, to get into a car, you need to open the door. And when you open a car door, there is a probability that the car door will strike the vehicle next to you. This creates a mark on the vehicle's door which is unsightly.

Fortunately, the majority of parking lots that I frequent have plenty of extra space that allow me to park well away from other vehicles to avoid said unsightly marks.

I'm not sure why you're playing dumb and acting like we think the mere presence of another vehicle next to ours ruins it but I'm from Lethbridge which might just be the windiest city in this damn country and even if you are being careful, your door is flying not only out of your hand and hitting the car next to you, but it's flying to Medicine Hat.

I don't think parking next to someone is a lack of basic respect of their property. I think unneccessarily (i.e. a sufficiently empty lot where dozens of spaces are available closer to the door) parking next to someone is a lack of common courtesy.
