In the politician's handbook the first defense is to deny.

I did not have sexual relations with that woman

I am not a crook

I didn't know

I doubt very much that Redford didn't know what her staff was doing. Everything about her screams entitlement and a distinct contempt for her constituants.

She wanted to build her own palace basically. She knew that she was wrong on the South African trip but denied and blustered as long as she could..

I doubt that anyone steps on an empty government plane with her daughter and a security guy and says this is a good use of taxpayer funded properly.

But like most politicians they don't care because they think that what they're doing is normal. The old Politburo members used to think it was ok to steal from their government and spend lavishly on themselves because they needed to be coddled more then the average person because political leadership of a country was hard.

to me, in terms of ethics, Redford doesn't have them.

Someone said that she was probably book smart but not attached to reality.

I would argue that she has a high opinion of her own intelligence, and thought she could pull a series of fast ones to live a fantasy of being a princess or a Queen. In reality, she's a stupid stupid person, and she has really earned herself the award of worst political leader in the last century in this country, and that's hard to do when you have a Prime Minister that got his advice from a stuffed dog.
