In general, humans are cleaner (have less dirt and bacteria on them) than dogs. However, you are more likely to catch a disease from another human than from a dog - many of the germs that live on a dog can't live on a human and so can't infect you. You certainly can't say the same about other humans.
So... you are more likely to catch a disease from kissing or sleeping with your significant other, than letting a dog lick you or sleep in your bed.

My two dogs are allowed up on the bed. In the four years we have owned dogs neither my wife or I have caught some disease/germ/infection from the dogs.... the same cannot be said about my wife or myself.
