When available ice time at indoor rinks is at a premium and FREE outdoor rinks are becoming more and more scarce, of course it is going to hurt your bottom line! The NHL is forecasting a loss of talent and natural resources that directly pertain to its brand. You think hockey is expensive now? Wait until the free part of it is no longer viable. We are lacking dozens of arenas in Calgary compared to the demand.... this just makes matters worse and the cost out of reach for many more families.
I for one think it's short sighted for a company NOT to keep tabs on its future resources that affect its bottom line.
