My Long Haired Whippet was having severe diarrhea to the point as if he was urinating out of his anus. The two LHW's that we have do have a sensitive stomach and when we change foods they tend to get the runs for a day or two. So I didn't think much of it for a few days but after 3 days and the diarrhea getting worse, and Loki acting lethargic we rushed him to the vet.
Of course the vet said the dreaded C word. All blood tests, and xrays came back fine with the exception of high white blood cell count. So they kept him a few days on IV fluid and special food with medicine basically Imodium.
So we get him home and it's almost as if he had a stroke, his back legs aren't working right, he stands up and just plops right down again. I'm getting worried because he was eating and drinking just fine before we took him to the vet and now he wont eat or drink.
We take him to a new vet and basically told us that his brain wont flush out the medicine which is making him ill.
basically this :

Last night I got him to eat a slice of bread dipped in water, today he ate a half can of wet food. He's still not eating much and drinking less. So he got another IV bag yesterday and he's now getting up and walking around then plopping down again. He's acting better but still looks like he had a stroke almost with coordination being terrible.
He's only 25 pounds and has lost a lot of weight, if he doesn't start acting better tomorrow the vet told us that we can get him to Mississippi State University vet science program and we've been in contact with the Washington state lady in the article and they're going to work together.

Loki is the grey dog and Gryffin is the red dog. Our breeder has passed away last year and she was from Toronto so we have no other people to talk to.
Katie and I don't have any children yet and these are our kids. It makes me cry seeing him like this. Just sitting up, and flopping down right away.
