He's going to be closer to or above $5 mil now. That's the issue.
I wouldn't mind the price for 2 years. Any more than that I say no. Someone will give him 4-5 years on the open market. Maybe not higher AAV but more overall dollars.
IMO he's worth more as a valuable trading piece at $2.5 than he is on the team for another couple years at $5. Teams that are cap strapped at the deadline could be throwing out decent deals for a bargain contract top 6 winger. He's got to be the cheapest one in the league, that's not a rookie.
