I agree with you to an extent, but the Jays are in an interesting situation where, relatively speaking, they have greater prospect depth at pitcher than they do positionally. I don't know that Tulo is a generational talent, but he is certainly a perennial all-star, at a prime position. These two things combined make the idea of acquiring him more interesting, but I can't imagine the possibility is too high that the Jays actually have the prospect (or young talent) depth required to acquire him without crippling the team.
To that end, I think the Jays should be focussing more along the lines of acquiring players that are pending free agents, or that address specific concerns going forward (hitting vs. left-handers primarily).
