I like Gillies but until he plays a higher level of hockey (hopefully 2015-16) you have to wonder a bit how much is he benefiting from playing behind a very defensive minded team.

I am not disregarding him, simply putting his season in perspective. I fully acknowledge that he had a great season, but I also have to acknowledge that there weren't a lot of great seasons prior to that.
Last year, Gillies was voted 4th (a bit early maybe) and Ortio 30th (a little late?). Did that one season really change everyone's opinions of these two goalies that much?
Certainly Ortio's stock was going to rise after he came to NA and had a great year. But I think there is a little bit of 'what have you done for me lately' going on with the fanbase. The reasons that Gillies was voted 4th last year still exist.
