A year ago, I think most people (including management) had given up on him ever being a regular in the AHL, nevermind the NHL.
Last year, I would have had him behind Ramo, Berra, Brossoit, and Gillies on the depth chart. His performance last season allowed management to trade Brossoit and Berra without concern, and he's basically neck-and-neck with Gillies now, IMO.
Good for him to step up and prove everyone wrong.
