European NHL players of course care more about the Stanley Cup, because they're in that race.
Which is a big reason why the olympics is such a big deal, it's the one hockey tournament that unites the hockey playing world. The World Cups never managed to really do that, and I think it would be a mistake for the NHL to try. Europeans especially are used to tournaments with tradition, and to the idea that international tournaments are organized by international organizations (such as the IOC or FIFA).

That's pretty much how it was describe d in the Film . The film never talked to Nhlers only European players that choose not to or never had played in the NHL.
