So you should compare Knight's 1st year stats to Jankowski's 2nd:
Knight had 13 points in 37 games (6G + 7A), Jankowski had 25 points in 39 games (13 goals and 12 assists).
Knight became a PPG player during his 20, 21, and 22 year old seasons. It will be interesting to see what Jankowski does this year entering his 20 year old season.

I think the better comparison is Joe Colborne. Similar age in college. Both from a lower league and similar size but Joe scored at better than a PPG in his sophomore year. It still took Joe until his sixth year after his draft to establish himself in the NHL.
