Rules or not, being unable to change another players direction of travel while standing in front of the net is silly. I imagine EA was bad at programming contact, however; the trailer does seem to indicate that there is much more initiation of contact and cutting across the path of a dman will result in atleast an impedance of his direction of travel which is what it's like in reality.

The other huge issue was lag, it was impossible for me to ever play a single game of EASHL without stuttering during every stride, every shot and every pass making for jittery headache inducing gameplay. Don't tell me it's just my connection and it's not common because a small amount of research would show you it was a persistent issue for a large portion of the player base and yes I did port forwarding as well as various other methods all to no effect.

In terms of simulation and reality one gameplay element I'd like to see is d-men being able to bail out the goalie and defend the goal line or push pucks back with their hand.
The issues in front of the net that you seem to be speaking of was because of that protective bubble they but around the crease, so it caused a lot of issues with people being able to get to the front of the net without much issue as the defender would get "pushed" away from the crease.

I think it was operation sports that mentioned that the bubble around the crease seems to have been removed. Plus a lot of the issues you bring up are mostly because of old technology. Best to stay out of the past I say, and know that with more power, they will be able to do more.

The ps3 version has peaked. It pretty much peaked in NHL 12 and each year it was just minor tweaks here and there... As fans we get frustrated because we want more. Developers get frustrated cause they want to do more, but are limited to the tech, and then have to settle for new "features" and hope that is enough.

With the next gen consoles they now have the power to do what they want to.

I just ask that people stop talking about the old gen versions and base that opinion on how the next gen game will be.

If you're buying this game for the old gen consoles, then your concerns are probably valid.

If you're buying this game for the next gen consoles then your concerns aren't valid as no one knows what it will or will not be.
