Good point... but these are the same guys with Bennett replacing Monahan.
Sieloff is not a shiny new thing this year??
He was the 2nd biggest positive surprise of the prospects last October to Monahan being NHL ready.
If we would have held this poll at the start of the season he would have been ranked #3 behind Monahan and Baertschi or maybe 4 if folks could be happy with Bouma being the best 3/4 liner he could be.
I don't trust having a better year as a 19 year old in juniors as a big reason for optimism
Nemisz had a better junior year the year after the Flames drafted him.
Irving had a better junior year the year after the Flames drafted him
Pelech had a better junior year the year after the Flames drafted him
Boyd blew the doors off back in juniors after the Flames drafted him
None of them looked great at an NHL training camp as Sieloff has.
Backlund and Baertschi were close to the best junior aged players not in the NHL the year after the Flames drafted them.
Backlund was 10 soft games away from becoming a Hurricane last fall and Baertschi is further away than he was this time last year.
