The Econolodge I stayed in at Motel Village on 16th ave a few weeks ago said they still have rooms available for stampede. Room was $120 with a small kitchen w/appliances.
As well, check out the SAIT residences. Will probably be nicer than UofC (newer). Very nice rooms, with living room and kitchen. Can be had for cheap. They have internet access as well. Within walking distance to shopping and the C-Train and just north of downtown. Rate is about
$50 /night andbeats any hotel I've stayed in.
