I still don't understand why a hypothetical but reasonable festival-lover would prefer to spend summer in Edmonton than any number of other cities with more, larger, and better attended festivals.
I acknowledge that there are different strokes for different folks and that is great. It is entirely possible that someone, after visiting a reasonable cross-section of cities around the world in summer, concludes that Edmonton is the most enjoyable place for him or her to spend the rest of their summers. However, it is also possible that someone who happens to live in Edmonton would just state that it may be the best place to spend a summer just because they happen to spend their summers there. The former statement is perfectly fair. The latter statement is nonsense.
I suppose my point is that I prefer that someone say "I love Edmonton in the summer" or something rather than "Edmonton is the best place in the world to spend summer" if they don't intend to defend the statement in some objective, measurable way.
Anyway, I'm probably just arguing for the sake of arguing.
EDIT: Edmonton sucks in autumn, winter, spring, and summer.
