Yeah if it was me I would have gone the Richards route, Iggy definitely doesn't need the money. BUT I disagree that Colorado is just as far from being the best choice as they are from being the worst choice (Edmonton). Colorado could very well have a surge in the next few years as MacKinnon, Landeskog and Duchene all continue to grow and trend upwards. You never know where they could be in 3 years, and where Chicago and LA are as theyre likely to have some cap problems going forward, which may keep them from being competitive (at least as dominant as they have been).

That said, if you want to win the Cup as a 37 year old, it's probably in your best interest to go for 1 year deals and choose a team each year (could be the same team). Not how I would have gone about it, but certainly not a zero chance of winning that the article seems to suggest.
