He followed up a rookie of the year season, with 1 fewer game, the exact same SvPct & GA. But 2 extra wins, on an already impressive winning record. Goalies aren't like skaters, they don't need to improve their stats to show progress. Consistently maintaining great stats is progress.
While really hard to project, I think Gillies in the top 5 just on the off chance he becomes an extremely big difference maker.

Gillies certainly has the potential to be a great goalie.
The reason I can't rank the goalies this high though is that their
likelihood of being an impact NHLer is so low.
I think Gillies has elite potential. But I look at a Klimchuk and I also see elite potential (as a best case scenario) but a higher likelihood of that happening, as well as a higher likelihood of being a decent NHLer.
