Cherry picking stats usually doesn't prove much. Baertschi played on one of the best teams in the CHL. Poirier scored more goals on a weaker team with less help up front. I almost think Poirier's totals are more impressive when you put them in context.
I went Poirier. Breakaway speed is so huge in the NHL. But he also has a great shot, tenacity, skill, etc. Very well rounded. I think his game will adapt quite well to the NHL eventually and he has a high upside too.
