I think AHL results certainly matter because I think if you can't score in the AHL it is unlikely you will score at the NHL level.
I also think, like we see in the CHL, some guys are able to put up big points at the AHL level and not translate that success to the NHL where guys are bigger and better and not as susceptable to some of the moves that work in the lower leagues.
