Igitang, I don't have a problem with the timing of the questions. I just think your painting a situation in your head that may have no resemblance to reality, then questioning someone's actions not based on reality, but on a scenario you dreamed up.
I doubt you have any idea of the state of the Liknes home that night. And kids love sleepovers, and don't likely care about the state of the house regardless. So unless there are broken glass and used needles on the floor, your making way to big of a deal about this.
If Grandma and Grandpa wanted to have him over (because they love him), or if he wanted to stay over, there is nothing to be critical about. And if that is something you would question, then it says more about you own parental beliefs and judgment than anything.
