And what would stop him from getting punked in the AHL? He would still be too small and weak to compete against some 25 year old who would gain recognition by smacking Bennett around in response to Bennett's cross-check.
Difference between Gaudreau and Bennett?? I do not expect Gaudreau to cross-check anyone and I see Bennett doing so on at least a semi-regular basis.
Gaudreau does not gain anything by adding 10-15 lbs.... he still will be a smart car as far as collisions go.
Bennett plays a demolition derby kind of game so he requires significant substance... He probably does not have the pure skill to play a Gaudreau style game... much in the same way that Toews does not have the skill to play a Patrick Kane style game.
How do we know that Bennett's speed (and skill generated off off his speed) holds up with the extra weight?
Iginla , after his best year -- 2004 dropped 10-15 pounds of muscle to be faster and more agile.
