St Louis demanded a trade because Yzerman had passed over him when making Team Canada Olympic selections. Never mind that this was possibly the best hockey team ever assembled, and thus also the most difficult roster to crack in the history of the sport, St Louis somehow interpreted this as a snub, and responded like a petulant child.

All told, it was a pretty ungrateful act, especially after he was eventually named to the team, and won a gold medal while looking largely invisible during the tournament.
