I think high numbers are ok for guys that wore them throughout junior/college (would still prefer traditional numbers for most part) but I think keeping high numbers from when you were an AHLer is pretty stupid.
Let Bennett continue to wear 93 like he has in his junior career but having Wotherspoon as 56, Baertschi 47, Backlund as 60, Gaudreau as 53 etc. because they were given those numbers as placeholders while they were fill ins on the roster seems silly to me.
