I have only been to Calgary once and that was some years back.
Trying to plan a semi-last minute weekend trip from 7/14-7/17.
However, as you all know the Stampede is in town and Hotel prices are astronomical ($150 per night and up).
In any event I am pretty bummed because I can't justify spending $1000 for a last minute weekend jaunt.
For the future where is a decent Hotel to stay in that is close to downtown? Is there some type of subway action? From what I have read the AP is about 10 miles outside of downtown, is this right?
Just wondering if you all wouldn't mind recommending something. Looking on the internet isn't as accurate as asking the locals
