I've been thinking about the same thing - why they wouldnt come forward.
Pure speculation, but I wonder if they are reluctant to come forward out of concern they will be pegged by the press or social media as something more than they were? Not saying it is happening, but I am wondering if there is concern that coming forward to help may be misconstrued on the internet by an amateur sleuth as now being "questioned" in relation to the situation.
