Even so, if you look at the 2012 draft and 2013 draft overall, there are some very key pieces to this team moving forward that are undeniable, and some very good later round picks that could have an NHL career. Clearly he wasn't so bad as he was snapped up by Vancouver to build their team. I feel like this is a good hire for Vancouver and a not so good situation for the Flames to have him on a rival team.

My point is that outside of 2005-2006, you don't see a huge change in drafting "philosophy" .... you see changes, I'm sure, but technology advances, tools become available, etc... this isn't one particular thing that one guy does. The whole drafting "philosophy" that was re-vamped, well there is no real evidence to show there was a massive change.
There are good picks, sure, but again that is more than likely Tod Button. Especially since Weisbrod doesn't really seem to ever even leave the East Coast and our draft picks are CHL players, not to mention its not even Weisbrod's job as those picks are all Tod Button.
Personally, I couldn't be happier he is with the Canucks..... best case scenario IMO.
