Fortis et Liber doesn't really have any long-historical association for Alberta. It was selected in 1980.
Latin is over done. I don't want to see it on license plates. Most people don't even know what they mean and it seems we always default to some variations of the same clichés (fortis, liber, ad astra, ad mari, etc. blah blah). Maybe we should go with James Bond's family motto. Alberta, orbis non sufficit!
Although I'd be cool with it if we went for some ridiculous phrases.
