Sam Bennett is the kind of guy you want on your side.

That's the scouting report from Calgary Flames centre Sean Monahan, who faced off against Bennett for one season in the Ontario Hockey League and describes his new teammate as a royal pain-in-the-you-know-what.

"It was his first year playing against me as a rookie, and he was always giving little chops and stuff," Monahan recalled. "He's a little pest, but he's got a lot of skill and he plays with heart, and I think that's what you want in a hockey player.

"He competes hard. I think he's going to be a great addition to our team."
