Just throwing this out there, but maybe the extra skating practice had something to do with him being gassed?!?

I am actually extremely high on Kanzig - I think he will be an NHL'er. There could be a variety of factors why he was gassed - already tired from his extra practice, poor sleep the night before, possibly flu-bug, etc., etc. There could be a variety of reasons. Every player has a bad outing, or is over-tired at times, and one showing doesn't really make a trend. He is probably the most dedicated prospect in terms of training in the entire org.
I was actually speculating that I think he may be too big (too much muscle mass) and I wonder if the Flames' new strength and conditioning coach will get him to trim down a bit from that regard. You don't see too many muscular behemoths in the NHL - though if he is playing 12-16 minutes a night at the NHL level he may very well maintain that level of build. I know Iginla decided years ago to reduce his muscle mass a bit in order to be quicker and have more stamina.
However, I don't think there is another poster on this board that is as high on him as I am (I actually think in time he could very well be a very good 2nd pairing shut-down D, but I would bet he at least becomes another Engelland, which is not bad at all for a third round pick).
