Yeah, but he isn't the first player to request a trade. Unless you're implying such venerated names as Raymond Bourque are also terrible, horrible people for wanting to win.

So because Kesler asked to leave Benning decided "May as well trade Burrows too."? Or is the implication that Burrows also asked for a trade?

You know what's more likely? Kesler asked for a trade and Benning decided better to have people who want to be here. Then he looked at his roster and made another decision: lets do some house cleaning so we have cap space for July 1st. He decided the Burrows deal and the Garrison deal did not fit in going forward, so he decided to try and move one. Despite Burrows terrible person-ness he opted to dump the Garrison contract which means we have to assume Garrison is a serial-child killer and puppy kicker because how could any sane person do that over the spineless worm that is Burrows. And hell, this is all rumour and speculation (mind you, from people who have been good at knowing goings on) so maybe it wasn't even Burrows, just Garrison!

"And then, I will bring up the riot and get all the thanks and people will laud me for my incrediblly clever attacks on the Canucks fan! I will be the favoured Jets fan on all of CP!"

WE HAVE NOW GONE: 4 0 DAYS WITHOUT BRINGING UP THE RIOT IN HOCKEY ARGUMENTS WITH CANUCKS FANS.

Wow, what a heated reply. Sarcasm and hyperbole at maxim levels. Seems like it touched a nerve alluding to the fact it's ironic a Canuck fan would talk about extreme over reactions to hockey related things.

Also pretty remarkable that you're still defending Kessler. The first signs of the team slipping last year and there were reports he wanted out during the season. It's pretty astounding you're still trying to avoid admitting the guy is a rat. That's the attitude of a winner? Someone who wants out the minute there's signs of trouble? Can you take it one further and suggest he's such a winner he has no problem diving into summersaults trying to draw penalties? Remarkable.

It's the same with Burrows. His stats plummet last year and the logical conclusion is that's the reason he's supposedly on his way out? Why doesn't that logic to apply to all the other players that had their stats drop off the map? Just a year or two ago we were all hearing how Burrows was one of the better value contracts in the league...

I realize you're deeply deeply offended by my opinion, but I still suggest there's a lot of validity to it.

Had Kessler been the valuable winning oriented 2nd line centre you're making him out to be, why wasn't there an effort made by the new regime to keep him?

Because he's a complete dirt bag, and counter productive to a winning environment.

Just like Burrows. Those two were the poster boys for everything that's been wrong with your team for the last five years. And I think this has finally been identified and is being addressed now that someone with some hockey sense has taken over.
