Correct me if I am wrong, but this does not mean that Colborne is going to arbitration.
It may just very well be that his agent and Treliving have just started negotiations, but there is a cut-off period where players need to file in order to have a hearing. The Flames and Colborne may very well make an agreement very soon, but 'just in case' Colborne had to file by the deadline.
It may also mean that they are indeed far apart in negotiations. We will see what happens and what information (if any) gets released in the next few weeks.
