Again, listening to and making use of a communication are two different things. Listening to an online stream doesn't absolve you of any legalities.

This is something I've come across numerous times now as I used to run a scanner in Red Deer for the RCMP. It all stems from the Radiocommunications Act 9.(2).

But yes, people still do it and don't get in trouble. My point was though that this guy is professionally connected via the search association, with access to actual service radios likely. He should have known better to divulge information publicly that was not meant to be. That's my whole point, but if you want to discuss legalities of internet feeds of scanners, feel free to PM me.
