Not sure why so many look at this stat as a good thing. With the ice time Butler had, it's most definitely a terrible stat to be 2nd in blocked shots. If there was a stat that tracked shots faced while player on ice, Butler would be 1st in the league.
Good on him for shoving his body into his mistakes, but the amount of turn-over's he gave up with the Flames would be great to see with the Oilers.
