I like Byron, I had no problem with his effort level last year. But I've said it before, you can't build up from a 27th place hockey team without change, Yes we've had some change in the top 6 with Camms going and Raymond coming in. But at some point you need to start fitting pieces of your rebuild in, and Byron is probably not going to be part of the long term vision of the Flames.

The key prospects that are ready to graduate, the Reinharts and others are those bottom 6 guys that need to take Byron's spot.

You can't get sentimental for a player on a bottom tier team because you can't keep bringing everyone back.
