I'm very happy that Byron has been resigned. With all the talk of Johnny Hockey, Bennett and our other prospects having to work their way into the roster, signing Byron was a "put your money where your mouth is" moment.
Besides what Byron brings as a player, his signing sends a message to the kids that if you work hard, buy into the system, and play bigger than your size you'll get your shot on the big team. And that message isn't just important for our Gaudreau to Baertschi sized players... imagine if Hunter Smith and Kanzig buy in and refuse to be outworked and outhit by a little smurf like Byron?
The Flames will be terrifying.
