Setoguchi is a player I really noticed in his first season with San Jose, and then he regressed. You might be able to count him for 20 goals in a season, but I really doubt Hartley would like him much. He just doesn't seem to be one of those lunch-pail types, and he isn't talented enough not to be (though there is something there obviously with 20 goals).
He just seems slow and disinterested. Seems like a guy who just doesn't work hard. SJ fans lost their appreciation for him, as did Wild fans and Jets fans now. As long as the contract didn't carry term, I wouldn't hate it, but he might stick out like a sore thumb with his lack of footspeed now and the seemingly lack of urgency he plays with now.
