We don't know that. All it takes is to develop well or get lucky once to get a corner stone player. Look at the Ducks with Getzlaf (19) and Perry (28). At the very least they can become great supporting players.
If they don't find that player, the Sedins retire, then finally the Canucks will have no other choice but to rebuild.
