I like that Brad brought up the origins of our two more controversial additions. Bollig and Engelland have had front row seats with two of the best organizations in the NHL. They have first-hand experience seeing what guys like Crosby Toews Kane and Malkin do to prepare to win championships.

I've often thought one of the more under-rated ways to build a franchise is to fill up the bottom six forwards and third pairing D with guys who come from championship environments. Maybe you pay more for a slightly lesser player in a vacuum, but these guys have been a part of the ultimate goal. There is no downside to supplementing your depth with guys who have their name on the Stanley Cup.
