I think a lot of teams are now thinking they could have gotten Neal, due to the seemingly low price he was traded for. The reality is that Pitts (most likely under the guidance of Crosby and/or Malkin) sought out a specific player, which they felt matched their needs.
I also think Hornqvist is very underrated. He's a 50 point player on an offensively conservative team. He's also only 27 and a bit of a late bloomer.
The idea that we could have just substituted a player like Glencross and gotten Neal is absurd. He's not what the Pens were looking for.
