Kesler is the better player and more proven, but it isn't a huge downgrade by any means by getting Bonino who played anywhere in their top 9 all season.
As far as whether the Canucks are a better team after this deal is a different story. It isn't a huge win for Vancouver but I don't consider this a huge loss either.
