Seems like the perfect fit for the Flames while some of the D-man prospects develop in the AHL. I only expect 1-2 of the current crop to make it (most likely Wotherspoon and Sieloff), but it gives them time to develop properly, although Wotherspoon looked nearly ready last year.
I would be happy to have a veteran like Mitchell to solidify the back end and allow the young forward crop to play a little looser and allow them to make mistakes without it costing the team every time.
