I think the Suarez ban is pretty good. It will hurt his iternational team, and his club team. Liverpool could be out of the race in the premier league and Champs league by the time Sauarez is back and in match fit form.
The fact that his absense directly hurts both teams will hurt his overall reputation, not only on those teams, but for other teams interested in his services. I think the suspension does more harm to him than just the games missed seem to suggest. He's effectively let down all of his teammates, everywhere.
