You have to remember Martin St. Louis once joining the lighting was still getting roughly 2 minutes a game. It took time and a lot of hard work till he was able to earn the ice time and gain the confidence to succeed like he has.

The Flames didn't give up on St. Louis, even he credited the Flames back them for that.

Martin is an exception, what can happen with hard work and always believing in yourself, and not the rule that a small man can play in a big mans game.
