I'm glad to see he is going to make a second chance of this, and I hope he has realized what he needs to do. Can't live on Pizza and play in the NHL
But Sam Bennett is fit. Bennett is a young kid who simply might be lacking behind others in terms of weight room training. Maybe nobody got him to do body weight exercises. More likely, he didn't have enough time to work out in the weight room and grow his muscles given the games and minutes he plays. That has nothing to do with Bennett not working hard or not being fit.

As for Howse, it's easy for you to say that you would work that much harder if you were in Howse's position but you never went through what Howse went through. And it's not easy maintaining a strict diet and exercise regimen. Many athletes can't do it. Many celebrities can't do it. For some it comes naturally. For others, it is tough work. Drew Doughty's nickname was Doughnuts because he had always been chubby and battled through weight problems all through juniors. A lot of people take a break after they graduate from University or even after high school. A lot of people don't love their jobs enough to put in the work necessary to become successful but they stay in their jobs because the money is good. It happens.
