Yeah, that's a tough one. It sucks to have the team away for a couple of weeks, then, they come home and play almost every other night for a couple of weeks. It can start to feel like a chore.
A couple of years ago, I went to two concerts in the same week that there were three Flames games. I was at the Saddledome for 5 out of 6 nights.
I'll likely be looking to unload some ticket packages just to reduce the 5 or 6 game home stands to 2 or 3 games that I'll be attending.

Since the Flames own all three teams (and aren't required by a CBA to share a fixed percentage of the revenue with the players in the other leagues), it's in their best interest to ensure the Hitmen and Roughnecks get some good weekend dates to drive ticket sales. It's not necessarily that the NHL is letting the other guys dictate the schedule, but the Flames will make sure those good dates are available for the other teams.
