More trades...
To Flyers: Chris Stewart, 11th pick 2014, Cal 2nd 2016
To Blue Jackets: Rick Nash
Nash was taken off the trade block but Dave kept bugging me about him, after couple weeks of discussion we finally agreed on a fair return.
To Flyers: 9th overall 2014, 39th overall 2014
To Wild: 8th overall 2014
I liked Kevin Fiala in that range and added another pick for dropping down.
To Flyers: James Wisniewski
To Rangers: Cody Ceci, Drew Shore, 32nd overall in 2014
I was looking to add another defenceman who had a good sim year last year and Wis was a good one to add. Price was heavy but you gotta give to get.
To Flyers: Rick Nash
To Blue Jackets: Jamie Oleksiak, Lauri Korpikoski, 21st overall 2014, 40th overall
Nash was thrown back on the block and the deal was done. I'm not high on Olesksiakand Korpi is a bottom 6 froward. I think the price I gave up to get him back was less then I got when I traded him.
To Flyers: Connor Hellebuyck
To Leafs: Patrick Wey, 51st overall 2014
Connor has a bright future ahead of him and I'm very glad to add him to the organization.
To Flyers: Dion Phaneuf
To Lightning: Chris Stewart, Dmitri Orlov, 39th overall 2014
Dion may not be a #1 in the NHL but in the CPHL he will have the stats and the rating to be one. I didn't the price was too much to get a top pair player.
To Flyers: Hudson Fasching, Matt Martin, 2015 top 50 pick
To Leafs: Ben Smith
Added to my 2015 2nds collectioin, upto 7 now. Fasching is a good prospect, he really fell in the NHL but showed last year in the NCAA that he has huge potential. The NHL Sabres are high on him, paid a decent price to get him in their organization.
To Flyers: Kevin Klein, Vlad Namestnikov
To Lightning: James Wisniewski
The key was to shed about a mill in cap here but also get a decent replacement in Klein and a prospect I like in Namestnikov.
I'm sure more deals in the near future.
