I wanted to like Kia till I drove one. Holy balls did it ever feel like an appliance. The Koreans have come a long way when it comes to design, but they still have a long way to go when it comes to building a car that can handle or have any driving spirit. I think they are the ultimate car for the person who wants a lot of gadgets for a good price, but doesn't really care about driving.
I'm like you with Toyota...I really want them to do well as I remember their cars from the late 80s and early 90s with nostalgic fondness. Back when thy had the MR2 and Celica and the Tercel/Corolla Wagons. They weren't always the most out there design wise, but they had their own honest personality. Toyotas today look like bloated bars of soap.
The FR-S does seem like a great car, although I wish it had a little more soul visually. That and it wasn't a Scion. Scions are for cheese-eating high school kids and seniors. Toyota just needs to kill that brand already.
